There’s been a few changes around here and I think it’s about time we talk about it.
A (not so) Brief History
I had to have been younger than 8 years old when I made my first wysiwyg website. I remember specifically uploading a picture of my crush and I along with a picture of Avril Lavigne (because why not?). When I was in middle school I was convinced I was going to be a baker so I had my dad purchase the domain Snow White Frosting. I think I made one post about a muffin recipe. From there I toyed with a few other websites but never really settled on anything.
Studying Abroad
While studying abroad in 2016 I started writing blog posts again and suddenly I found a purpose to write again. For this phase of my blogging I decided to stick with something simple, my name, and suddenly kathrynanneliese.com was born. My legal name quickly became my online persona. I showed off all I was doing by starting a new Instagram; linking my website in an attempt to lead more people to it. At that time, following anyone I actually knew was something I didn’t dare do because this was my little secret and my chance to experiment with posts without the fear of judgement (which was 100% a self inflicted fear).
I blogged about everything at that point; anything that came to mind. My favorite post I’ve written to this day has to be about my feelings when Donald Trump got elected and you can still read that post here. It was the first thing I’d written that didn’t have anything to do with the travel I was doing.
The After Time
After I finished my study abroad I started working at Find Your Influence where I felt extremely encouraged by my co-workers to keep up with my blog/YouTube/Instagram. I had felt such shame in the past about having an online presence that it was a nice change. It really shows what a few good friends can do for you. I started blogging about more lifestyle things and I was the most disciplined than I had ever been; posting at least once-a-week & daily Instagram posts. This quickly faded once I realized I didn’t care about the content I was making, though. At that point I was just making to make.
Between 2017 and present days I didn’t have much inspiration to write. My days were filled with my final few semesters of college, my friends and my job(s). Writing and blogging took a back seat to life and I’m glad it did.
So now we’re here.
You read 5 paragraphs and you still don’t know what’s up with the new name of my blog. So let’s get to the fun part…I believe life consists of chapters. There’s a thousand Pinterest quotes about chapters of life.
You can’t start the next chapter of your life if you keep re-reading the last one.
There will be many chapters in your life, don’t get lost in the one you’re in now.
But… what about the pages? Why are we so hung up on the chapters when pages build the story? You can’t have a story without chapters and you can’t have chapters without pages. That’s where I found Page Nine. Although this isn’t my ninth venture it’s probably pretty close. Right now i’m 22, living with my roommate and dog, working a full time job and just trying to figure it all out. It’s not always glamorous or dramatic or even interesting; but it’s life.
Now that you made it this far you’re probably at least slightly invested, so why not sign up to be notified when I post? Also, if you think you have a “page” of life you want to write about, shoot me an email because I want this to be a blog for everyone.
My first post will be up soon because trust me I have been writing like a maniac and I can’t wait to share it all.
TL;DR
Page Nine will take a realistic view of the existence of a 20-something navigating life. We aren’t at Coachella every week, we don’t have the perfect boyfriend and no, do not try to sell me that over-priced skin care because I can’t afford it. Page Nine strives to find a useful balance between Instagram perfection and I-R-L boredom.
Do you mind if I quote a couple of your articles as long asI provide credit and sources back to your website? My blog site is in the very same niche as yours and my users would certainly benefit from some of the information you present here. Please let me know if this okay with you. Thanks!
I have read your article carefully and I agree with you very much. This has provided a great help for my thesis writing, and I will seriously improve it. However, I don’t know much about a certain place. Can you help me?
