PSA: If you want any of these products Kylie has restocked TODAY! So ruuuuuun!
There was a ton of hype around Kylie Skin when it first launched. A lot of the drama was surrounding the Kylie Jenner’s walnut face scrub which has many skincare professionals saying “Walnut will cause micro-tears in your skin.” With all the drama aside I was one of the first few people to press “order” on the first drop of the skin care line. Now that almost a month has passed since I purchased Kylie Skin Foaming Face Wash, Vanilla Milk Toner and Face Moisturizer I think it’s about time I also weigh in on all of this.
First Impression
-The packaging of the products are exactly what every review has said: beautiful. It really is the millennial dream and it looks great sitting on my bathroom counter. The only downside to the packaging is if you want to read the packaging you may strain your eyes.
-The face wash was much creamer than I was expecting. Usually with anything foaming I find that once I stop rubbing it in my hands, the foam goes away. When using the Kylie Skin Foaming Face Wash, I was surprised that the more I rubbed it on my face, the more it lathered and became creamy.
-The toner was a delightful surprise! None of the toners I had used before were this thick. It made the cotton pad I was putting it on actually feel a little heavy.
-The moisturizer was really hard to pump out and once it was out it felt very sticky on the skin. The feeling went away in about 20 minutes after application. I found it annoying at night but it made me think it could be a great priming moisturizer in the morning.
-Overall the smell of the products didn’t affect me much and I didn’t notice it for most of the products. If I were to describe it, I would say that it smells like sweet plastic and not overly offensive.
After 1 month of use
I used all three steps for a month and I realized these products are very mild. If you are someone that wants to feel something after doing your skincare routine, this isn’t the three steps for you. It won’t help problematic skin (dry, oily, acne etc.) and it really would be best for someone just getting into skincare and getting into the routine of using these types of products.
KylieSkin Foaming Face Wash
After about two weeks of using the face wash I found myself reverting back to only using my Clinique Take the Day Off cleansing balm. It wasn’t that I didn’t like the texture/smell/ feel; it’s that it didn’t feel like it was doing anything to my skin. Would I repurchase? Only if I was looking for a mild cleanser but right now I have too many of those. The foaming aspect was very intriguing and if you don’t have a go to mild cleanser I would recommend this one!
KylieSkin Vanilla Milk Toner
This product is probably the only one I would continue using and potentially repurchase! I really like how it feels on my skin and unlike other toners it feels like it is moisturizing and cleansing my face at the same time. Although I have no backing evidence to that, I just honestly love how it feels. If you don’t have problematic skin I think this is a great way to add a toner into your skincare routine.
KylieSkin Face Moisturizer
This product was initially a let down for me! The product is really difficult to get out of the bottle with the pump and squeeze tube combination. This moisturizer was slated for “anytime” use, but as I noticed that it made my skin very tacky after application. With that said, I do love using it combined with the NYX foundation drops. The tacky consistency making it great to mix with color and turn into a tinted moisturizer. I would repurchase just based on this!
Overall I could probably live without all of these products, but I do enjoy testing them while I have them but I do not plan on repurchasing any as I already have a few holy grail skincare items in my bathroom cabinet.
TL;DR
-Face wash foamed nicely but overall is a mild cleanser with little to zero effect on my skin. It will not remove makeup.
-Toner is thick and would be a nice addition to your skincare routine if you’ve never used a toner before.
-The moisturizer is tacky but leaves the skin feeling smooth once it sets in.
-Overall: 7/10
